Concerned Oklahomans for the Highway Patrol Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed by citizens and friends of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Our Purpose
The principal purpose of our group is to enhance public support for, further the views and goals of, and support increased professionalism of the troopers of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The OHP is the only professional organization adequately trained to be responsible for public safety across Oklahoma.
COHPS is not a lobby group. Rather, it is organized to be of service to the troopers' cause. COHPS is overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of 13 members: six from Eastern Oklahoma, six from Western Oklahoma, and one at-large member. These Directors work directly with the representatives from the:
Oklahoma Highway Patrol
Department of Public Safety
Oklahoma State Troopers' Association
Retired State Troopers
In addition to the projects that COHPS works on each year, the organization has a long-term goal that is crucial to its success. That goal is to establish a network of membership across Oklahoma's 77 counties, enabling us to gain strength through numbers. Every member in our organization is important. And every goal that is met can only be achieved by, and attributed to, our member's participation. We want our troopers to know that they are appreciated by the large majority of the citizens of Oklahoma as they perform their demanding job, risking their lives for public safety. We are here to assist them in their fight to preserve their tradition and we will continue to support them in their efforts to enhance their organization.
Board of Directors
The COHPS Board of Directors is a volunteer group of citizens who greatly appreciates the men and women of the Department of Public Safety and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The COHPS Directors are not compensated in anyway for their time, travel, of for any other expenses while serving on the COHPS Board. Rest assured your support of COHPS goes in total to our Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers and their families.
COHPS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and qualifies as a tax exempt donation.
